He couldn’t be sad…everything the boy did for him made him smile, even the most unthinkable thing. He smiled widely and stared at him. ”It was nice talking to you”, he said, his heart pounding in happiness. ”Maybe we…we can meet tomorrow?”, he tried not to hesitate to be fast. He felt something sweet, soft, pure…love. In part, he felt sad because the day was perfect that way, but he also felt happy because he could feel Tadzio close to him, skin agaisnt skin.

Smiling softly at the man, he placed the jacket in his lap again, placing one of his own delicate hands over the man’s larger hand briefly before pulling it away again as though it had never happened. “Ah… t-tomorrow!” He grinned, nodding with enthusiasm, stepping away as his mother’s calls started to become worried. “Goodnight, Herr Aschenbach.” He gave a final smile, before running to his mother, only to be scolded for staying out so late.

Macy Gray - I Try

He felt sad when he heard the boy saying that, but he had no choice. He looked at him, with pity. ”It’s…It’s OK”, he said. ”It’s not for me to judge it.” Suddenly, he started to think about everything that happened between them. He had the courage to talk to him and even hug him! He felt like he wasn’t himself. Anyways, he wanted to stay some more time with him. It felt really comfortable and calm. It was…perfect.

As though on cue, he heard his name being called from near the hotel and he gasped softly, jerking away from the man. It was his mother, he realised, calling him in for his bath and bed. He gave the man a soft, slightly apologetic smile, stroking the material of the jacket between his fingers. “I… ah… thank you for warming.” He gave a tiny giggle at his awkward English, glancing back up at the man.

gustavvonaschenbach:

He suddenly forgot about anything and passed an arm over Tadzio’s shoulders and brought him closer to him so he could get warm faster. When he noticed what he did, he gasped quietly — but it was too late. He didn’t know if the boy noticed about it, but his heart started to bump softly agaisnt his own chest. He found out that Tadzio’s body was harmonic, fragile, and his skin was soft to touch. He looked at the horizon again and saw that the sun was about to dissapear in the skyline.

Tadzio’s eyes widened, his whole body stiffening at the sudden contact, giving a light shiver as he was pulled against the warm body. He relaxed against the other, however, following his gaze to the rapidly disappearing sun. A feeling of guilt settled in his stomach when he thought of his family, suddenly and how they would be wondering where he was. He hesitated for a moment, searching for the words and pulling the borrowed jacket closer around himself. “I… must leave soon. Mother worries.”

gustavvonaschenbach:

He felt pity for him, and he felt guilty doing nothing, so he took off his jacket and covered the adorable boy with it. ”Are…are you cool?”, he said, interlacing his own hands by the fingers and looking at the youth with a worried gaze. ”He seems defenseless”, he though. And that though moved him greatly. He wanted to put an arm over his shoulders and hug him to warm him up, but he though it wasn’t an appropiate idea.

He blinked a little in surprise when the jacket was suddenly draped over him, before clutching the material closer with a tiny shudder at the warmth. He gave a tiny smile at the worried gaze, biting down softly on his own lower lip. “A little,” he admitted. His hands knotted in the fine material of the jacket, admiring the texture, and he could clearly smell the man’s cologne on it and feel the pleasant warmth his body had left on it. “Thank you,” he murmured softly.

gustavvonaschenbach:

He nodded, smiling kindly and softly. Maybe Tadzio was worrying about him at all? Did Tadzio care about him? Some sentences ran through Gustav’s head, but none of them reached his lips to say them. He grabbed his hat and put it on a small table next to his deckchair. Inmediately after, he passed a hand over his own head, and then he looked at the boy’s small and delicate hands. He noticed the twilight was starting, but he said nothing. It was a beautiful view, specially when you were accompanied by that special someone.

He gave a light shiver. With the absence of the sun, the cold was starting to set into his skin and he was not exactly dressed very appropriately. His hands rubbed his arms a little to create heat. He knew that his family would probably wonder where he was, but he could not bring himself to leave quite yet. He was comfortable where he was, huddled in the deck chair, if cold. He did not want to leave to strange man quite yet.
